Uninstall previos KX (Creative) drivers, any third-party KX-DSP plugins and restart PC. Do a clean install of the KX-3552 driver and restart PC. OK any kX popups that may pop up. Run 'molehotfixkx-3552(3553).exe' as admin and restart when it says to restart the PC.
OK any kX related pop ups that may pop up when Windows loads up. Set kX WaveOut 2/3 as default playback device in the Windows Sound Control Panel. Attention: strongly recommended to read the help files included in the archive. Thanks mole2old! I installed Windows 10 today and had problems with getting kX to work with the instructions from for Windows 7 x64. But your fix did the trick!
Nov 27, 2012 More about solved ct4830 driver. Emerald Nov 27, 2012, 8:42 AM. Windows 7 - 64 Bit Driver Needed For Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Model SB0; Windows driver disables sound card.
I had to unselect the Multimedia Keyboard Enabled option from Settings in the kX right-click menu for my volume knob on my Multimedia keyboard to work, though. It works with MasterMixer or Wave Out 2/3, though. I'm running Windows 10 Pro x64 and an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. Haven't tried the Windows 10 sleep functions, yet. I can't comment on that. Again, thanks for the fix mole2old! I found a solution to get the kX ASIO driver to show in 64Bit DAW Hosts in Windows 10 Pro x64.
The Solution is to manually register the kxasio.dll and to run the DAW Host software in Windows 7 Compatibility mode. So, to sum this up: 1) Use mole2old's fix posted in this thread. 2) Manually register kxasio.dll in C: Program Files kX Project To manually register the kxasio.dll: Go to the Start menu All Aps Windows System and right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administarator, select Yes if the UAC prompt comes up.
In the Command Prompt: type ' cd C: Program Files kx Project' (without the quotation marks) and hit enter, then type 'regsvr32 kxasio.dll' (without quotation marks) hit enter. The.dll should register. 3) Run in compatibility mode the software you will use the 64bit kX ASIO in. To run a program in compatibility mode: Right-click on the program.exe and select Properties, select the Compatibility tab, place a checkmark in the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for, and choose Windows 7 from the dropdown menu. I'm using SONAR X3 and SONAR Platinum, but X3 runs kind of sluggishly in Win 7 compatbility mode, and the sliders for volume and such on the SONAR GUI can't be adjusted smoothly as normal. Platinum runs better, but I wish we could use the x64 kX ASIO natively in Windows 10. Also, the 64bit kXMixer will load without error, if run in Windows 7 compatibility mode, but the ASIO control panel wont open by right-clicking the kX Manager icon in the taskbar and going to SettingsASIO Control Panel.
However, the ASIO Control Panel will open from within the Host program. I hope this info is helpful for someone. Hello all, firstly, a big thankyou to all who continue to eek out a little more life from the soundblaster/kx driver combo. Further thanks to the developers of course.
I used to use KX with a sounblaster platinum live/live drive II for a number of years. Only recently started using them again.
I recently bought an Audigy2 ZS and drivebay (SB0350/SB0250) for a Windows 7 64 bit system. So far, though still early days (a few weeks) everything seems to be working, albeit after a lil registry (correcting paths to the 32 bit KX Mixer) and manually installing 64 bit ASIO jiggery-pokery. A few things I'd like to know. When the 64 bit ASIO driver appears in my DAW, I see drivers listed as, KX, ASIO 1 (to) ASIO 7. What are these asio listings. The KX listing seems to work from my limited testing, setting outputs from DAW into DSP seemed fine, yet to try inputs. I found UFX for KX 3552, after searching HardwareHeaven, seems all the links to the most recent ProFx are dead.
Where is it possible to find a compatible ProFx or, what recent version is compatible. ProFx 311 for example? Thanks again to all concerned, very much appreciated. So now it gets interesting.
I've ran the fix for 3552 on Windows 10 Pro running an E-MU APS card. For some reason, I get 8 instances of kX ASIO and not a single one of them works.
It claims to be unable to locate a kx device. Interestingly, the 8 ASIO drivers show only in Cubase 8.5 and not Ableton - where the usual kX Uart ASIO isn't listed - only kx control and kx synth 1 and kx synth 2.
I suspect something is going on in my registry somewhere, but I haven't a clue as to where to look? Can anyone help?

Well thanks for making this anyways It got my mic working so now I dont have a half useless headset! But do you know know how to stop the sound from the mic from transmitting to my headphones? It is slightly annoying hearing a fuzzy sound al the time.
Posted by David. Apr 22nd, 2007 10:41:41 am - Mood: tired Music: No Music at this time For all of you guys that have had no luck installing your Creative Soundblaster Live 5.1 Driver on Windows Vista, here is a resolution that works!
After I installed Windows Vista I noticed that windows update did not support my Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1 so I decided to look for an alternative driver. I tried the following programs that did NOT work. This download is a standalone package of Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 software meant for existing 5.1 card users who have lost their installation CD. It also includes the following Creative Audio software suite. This applies to all Live!
Products, including OEM Dell, Gateway, HP, etc. Editions, 24-bit, 5.1, and the rest. Vista 5308 may or may not find drivers on Windows Update, but even if it does, they will not support Digital Audio. So I went straight to my manufacture.Dell. I begain looking for my computer type, then by its model. I noticed that a old driver was avaliable.
Direct Download from Dell Servers (Note - You do not need a Dell to download this Driver, its from Creative) So I downloaded it - Right Clicked on it Properties Windows XP Compatibility Apply Ok. Then I double clicked and installed. Luckly, after 2 hours of searching I found a resolution to my audio problems window Sound Blaster Live 5.1 for Windows Vista. All of you that have a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2, this should also work for you.

Direct Download from Dell Servers A 2nd Solution by anonymous - June 11th, 2007: Be sure to follow the directions strictly as they are written in blue.it's not hard Here's a mirror of the file you have to extract: And this WORKS FOR EVERYONE that has a Sound Blaster 5.1 Digital on Vista Bye Comment if you need help. Apr 22nd, 2007 10:41:41 am -. Says: June 01st, 2007 Okey, this is what I've done lately, but the problem still persists and this seems to be getting out-of-hand,and Microsoft & Creative should really spend a huge time & effort for fixing this huge problem. What I did was install a fresh copy of Vista Ultimate on my PC.After installing I've noticed immediately that my PC has no sound whatsoever, after investigating a bit in device manager (Which showed my sound device having that yellow thing.),and attempting to install my Sound Blaster Live! Driver from the original cd (Which would not recognise the driver.).I have aslo tried you're suggestion of installing the driver posted in you're blog and putting it in XP mode compatible, but the problem still persists saying: 'Setup could not detect any sound blaster audio card in your system.' Any posts concerning this problem is a BIG thanks.
Says: June 02nd, 2007 Hi! David, great work that you are at least making the effort. Unfortunately I have the same problem that it mentions a Soundblaster sound card could not be found. How can I determine the exact make and model of my card? I'm pretty sure it's a Live 5.1, but I'm afraid I'll have to pull it out of the machine first.
I've also tried extracting the files to a folder and by installing the new drivers navigate to that folder. Didn't work either.
When I did that while internet drivers (by MS I presume) where installed through 'Update drivers' and then navigated to the unpacked information it mentioned that the drivers installed where up to date. (However the sound was still crap.) Any other ideas? Says: November 10th, 2007 If you get the 'unable to detect' error message, here's the fix (this has been a known fix for years - even for Windows XP): Install a program like WINRAR so you can right-click the downloaded.EXE and extract it to a folder. In the folder is another compressed folder called DRIVERS - extract that one too. Inside THAT folder is a program called 'CTZAPXX'. Run it - it will ask if you want to install the drivers (gee, you think we do after all this?).
Once you accept the install, it will ask for a reboot. You should already have sound as it plays the Windows shut-down sound as it reboots. This has always worked for me on all machines! Says: June 14th, 2008 i tried many solutions here. Nuthing works Oo this modded driver works like the rest: front-left/right works. Subwoofer does as long as the front-boxes do. Rear and center says nothing.
In windows-driver i have 5.1 in this creative-optimize-thingy i had to choose between 2.1, 4.1 and headphones. All with the same effect. Same happens with x-fi driver.
Bullshit.- i'll try to force xpdriver again and if this wont work i'll use kx driver again (which for some reason stopped working yesterday o,o i had sound just to the point where kx loaded after each reboot). Says: March 17th, 2009 Assuming that Vista recognizes your card and it works fine with distortion, then the following should work well.
Go to Start Control Panel and click on Classic View. Double-click on Sound and single click on speakers. With Speakers now hilighted, click on the Configure button on the bottom left. Assuming you have two speakers and subwoofer, choose 7.1 Surround and click next. On the next screen, uncheck everything but the subwoofer and click Next. This screen leave only the Front left and right option checked.
On the next screen, click Finished and back at the Sound screen, just click OK. Enjoy the sound!:-)) big thanxx to peto from vistax64 forum. Says: September 28th, 2009 Hi, i just installed the new windows 7 on my pc, its running great, searches automatically all the drivers and stuff. Its installed my creative 5.1 drivers, but just in case i downloaded the realtek hd audio manager. When test the 5.1 all the speakers work perfectly, but whenever i reproduce a song only the 2 front side ones work, i would like to know if there is any configuration i would need to change on the wmp, although Ive searched all over and havent found anything.
Million thanks. Says: October 01st, 2009 I know you have probably answered this but I have a sound blaster live 5.1 (it was installed back in 2000) we just up graded to vista bacause we had a virus (it just wouldnt go away so we reformatted and added vista) now our speakers will not work.
I run the cd for it but all i get is the blue window that asks which language and after i click english I get nothing. I have tried everything to find a driver online but no sucess gggrrrr. There is no drivers for it at all on my computer or for my speakers any sujestions? And dont tell me get a new system my bf is way to cheap to do that. Lol oh yeah and I am moderatly computer literate so step by step directions would be a great help.
Says: October 01st, 2009 I have windows 7 installed and trying to find drivers for my soundblaster 5.1. Win7 doesnt recognize'em. What a shame!
Why is the RIVA128 card driver included but not SB driver? (came out at the same year)?? Any idea where to get win7 drivers for my sb 5.1 card? I have a realtek sound card onboard of my P5Q mainboard but just when I installed Windows 7, I have not much sound. Can't look a movie is someone talks in the room, LOL!! Yeah I checked all the sliders, mixers and 80% sound dampeners in Win7. Says: December 12th, 2009 Just got this working 12/12/09 using some tips above summarized: Goto Creative's support page and search for 'LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG)' then download to desktop.
Single right-click the executable icon on the desktop (the one you just downloaded), then single left click 'Properties'. Select 'Compatibality' tab in the properties box and check box 'Run this program in compatability mode for:' (I selected WinXp SP2). Apply/OK then double click the executable to run this old Creative install program. It may not work for everyone, but this install worked for my Win7 installation and kept working after reboot. Says: March 02nd, 2010 I am having trouble finding a working driver for Windows 7 - 64 Bit for a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Audo Card Model# SB0100 I downloaded driver file SBLPC64DRVBETALB2030005.exe which I think is a 64 Bit Sound Blaster Live! Update, but Windows 7 does not allow it to be installed because it is not a digitally signed driver.
It also seems Creative is no longer supporting these old cards with new driver updates. I love the card though. I have bought more recent sound cards and the sound of this card is still much better than the more recent sound cards I have bought.

So I would like to keep using it if possible. Are there any driver solutions?
Says: April 04th, 2010 For all Windows 7 64bit users. This is my sollutions. It's a non official SB Driver and is a Uneversal generic sollution. Go to: h.p://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/Creative-Sound-Blaster-Live-Live-5-1-kX-Driver-51003548-x64-Download-82308.html Dun forget to replace the 'http' in the link. And it requests u to reboot. Then Right mouse click on the speaker on ur taskbar.
Select playback devices then select 1 of the 3 or 4 choices given where it says kX. U can identify it by selecting test. U will now hear sound form ur speak or in my case, dual sound card use for DJ mixing purposes. Good Luck, i hope this helps.
